My front cover, has a main image of a male student holding a pair of drumsticks, stood infront of the main college entrance, this shows that the magazine is for my college, has a very musical theme, and is focused on students. There is a glow effect on the student, which makes him stand out from the rest of the image, and this would capture the antention of a person looking at magazines on a shelf. The masthead is at the top left of the page, it says "Avenue" and has a sans-serif font, is in all capitals, and has a orangy yellow colour, this makes it stand ut from other magazines, and I chose the title because it sounds modern and funky. The barcode, price and issue date are all in the top right hand corner. The main cover line is to the right of the focus point of the image, which draws your attenion after you have seen the main cover image, and is is a black sans-serif font. The other cover lines are in the bottom right hand corner of the cover, they are in the same font as the main cover line, but are white and in a smaller font. ines are at the bottom right of the cover. I feel this cover is apropriate to my target audience because, it features a student of the college, infront of the college, which is who the intended audience is, and all the cover lines are a apropriate to the audience acording to the survey we did.
I think the photo's on the front cover of my magazine look professional, and have been well places, which works very well. However the way the cover lines and masthead have been aranged and merged onto the front cover, dont look very good. However as a preliminary task, and one of my first uses of photoshop, i am happy with this cover.
I have learnt how to use photoshop more successfully whilst doing this task. I have learnt to use many of the tools available to good use, and have utilised my skills in the best way i can. I feel i have more to learn, but am making good progress in my photoshop skills. I have also developed skill in taking photographs properly.
